Ponder On… #3: Mark Driscoll

“God doesn’t fix everything,

but He is sufficient for everyone.”

Ponder On… #2: Mark Driscoll

The Bible is not just about information, it’s about transformation. It’s not about reading it so you can be moralized.

It’s about reading it so you can meet your Savior.

- Pastor Mark Driscoll, Mars Hill Church

Ponder On… #1

Just felt like posting this quote again as I do my fasting. :)

“I firmly believe that God will do anything to put me where I need to be. If there’s no other way for my hardened heart than brokenness, so be it. But sometimes, like the bus driver did in the long run, He just lets me go. Releases me yet allowing me to realize that He is still in control and that what waits for me has been long prepared for and is always beautiful.”

THE STARS (WATCHMEN)

source: http://www.quincydein.com/data/photos/391_1stars_above_haleakala__haleakala_national_park__maui__hi.jpg

They shine across our large walls and ceiling called night-sky, doing what they do best. Doing what they were made to do. With the moon, they light our streets. But as they compete against the city lights, they have become unnoticeable past time. So much so that most of us have to travel far to see their true majestic beauty. To the very last spark, they would shine and even when they have died, we see their light. That is their legacy. They are restless.

But is it all that they ever do? Blink all the way to us to prove their existence? If I was ever to be reincarnated, I’d like to become one of them. I want to know how it feels to be literally up there. For in my twenty one years of living, I have been in awe of their wonder and glory. Yet I am certain Where they come from is overflowing of such trait.

There are times that I picture them with emotions, as if they shine based on how they feel at the moment. I imagine them knowing us, watching them from a great distance. Hoping to come closer as much as we wish we are.

As I end my day, I read quite a few lines from the world’s greatest book… a library of books rather. Perhaps this best describes how I feel about these timeless, elegant and undeniably beautiful creation.

Isaiah 62:6-7

New International Version (NIV)

I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem;
they will never be silent day or night.
You who call on the Lord,
    give yourselves no rest,
and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem
and makes her the praise of the earth.
